Ballarat interest, important and rare high carat gold miner's ring decorated in blue enamel depicting a gold bucket and windlass, emblazoned 'Ballarat' all contained within a shield. Ballarat rings from this period are extremely scarce, and this is the first example known to our rooms with enamel decoration. Circa 1850s. Marks rubbed but appears to be stamped 'Whe...(?)', 6.9 grams
