A large pair of Satsuma export vases, early Showa period the pair of baluster form vases decorated in dark palette moriage enamel featuring the deity Kannon holding a lotus flower, surrounded by sages and attendants against gilded and polychrome grounds, a honeycomb border to the neck and a stylised lappet border to the base, bright gilded highlights throughout and bearing a four-character stamp and 'Importe du Japon' mark.
