A large 19th century Italian Majolica tin glazed wall charger by Achille Mollica, in the Renaissance style. The centre painted with a classical mythological scene depicting trumpeting heralds, gods, concubines and putti within a seascape. The traditional wide band painted with Raffaellesco-style Grotesques, scrolls and swags. Marked to the underside with a blue crowned 'M' mark for Achille Mollica, diameter 61 cm.
