The most excellent order of the British Empire awarded to Alderman Harold E fern, cased together with miniature and certificate signed by George VI. Harold fern was the British president of swimming's world governing body, FINA from 1936 to 1948. He was a member of the British Olympic Association, he also served in local government and was a governor of the Queen Elizabeth's school, Barnet, UK from 1921 to 1965, including a period as chairman. Note: the O.B.E. Is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service.
