Fidel Castro (1926-2016) Cuban Revolutionary and President from 1976-2008. Signature and endorsement on place name card made to the Australian swimmer Susie Maroney. Castro took a shine to the endurance swimmer when she swam from Florida to Cuba and held a dinner in her honour where he signed Mahoney's card on June 2nd, 1999. An exceptionally rare piece. 11 x 12 cm overall. Provenance: Private Collection, Queensland, purchased directly from Susie Maroney
