A very rare Worcester porcelain Duke of Gloucester service gilt and turquoise bordered fruit and moth painted shaped rectangular serving plate, English circa 1768/70, gilt crescent mark. Provenance: The Norman collection, no 100. The Hepburn Collection. Albert Amor Ltd London 3/9/1996 (12,500 pounds). Robert Burke collection no 24. Exhibited: Albert Amor Ltd 1973, cat. No 76. Reference: This service was by repute made for William Henry Duke of Gloucester (1753-1805) third son of Frederick, Prince of Wales and brother of George III.
