A very fine and rare Worcester porcelain turquoise and gilt edged shaped circular plate, from the Duke of Gloucester service, painted with fruit, insects and butterflies. English circa 1768/70, gilt crescent mark. Provenance: Robert Burke collection no 59. Reference: Another plate from this service with gold crescent mark sold Albert Amor Ltd London 1993 pl.9316 and another 1987 pl.no 8720. This service was by repute made for William Henry Duke of Gloucester (1753-1805) third son of Frederick, Prince of Wales and brother of George III.
