A rare and fine pair of Chelsea porcelain Royal-blue ground and gilt castors and covers, from the Mecklenburg Strelitz service, finely painted with exotic birds and shrubs. English circa 1760, gold anchor marks. Provenance: From the celebrated service commissioned by King George III and Queen Charlotte and presented in 1764 to the Queens brother Adolphus Frederick IV Duke of Mecklenburg Strelitz (1738-1794), Mrs John Ravensky Sothebys New York 26 January 1957 lot 514.
