A pair of vases described as 'a pair of hexagonal jars mazareen blue ground richly ornamented with burnished and chased gold and painted with birds' is listed in the catalogue of the sale of James Giles stock by Mr Christie in Pall Mall in 1774, reproduced both in Gerald Coke 'In Search of James Giles' p.136 Appendix G Fourth day's Sale no 42. Robyn Robb notes these vases appear to be the only vases of this type in this pattern and suggest that they are in fact these same vases listed above in the sale by James Christie.
