A fine George II burr walnut bureau bookcase, circa 1750 with a moulded edge to the overhanging cornice over astragal glazed double doors to the bookcase with cross banding, adjustable shelves inside, the interior fitted with pigeonholes and multiple drawers, with a slide to the frieze, the lower section with six half drawers with herringbone inlaid edges, with teardrop brass handles and lozenge shaped engraved lock plates to keyholes, raised on a moulded base rail and shaped corner bracket feet.
