A French faience apothecary jar and cover, circa 1900 the large tin-glazed vasiform jar and domed cover with scrolling snake-form handles, decorated in iron red and blue with floral swags, lappet borders and inscribed to the front 'Confect. De. Hiacinth' within a C-scroll and shell reserve, raised on a conforming domed circular base, unmarked. Height 45 cm
