Digging stick, a very long dark brown pole of cylindrical form, hand carved with varying width throughout, tapering at one end to a blunt point and the other end narrowing to the digging end. Melanesian origin. Length 353 cm, circumference at thickest point 20 cm. Provenance: Estate of John Lawford.
