A vintage black and white photo of the Terra-Nova in Port Chalmers, Dunedin, on the British Antarctic Expedition (Terra Nova Expedition) led by Robert Falcon Scott, under engine, sails furled. 37.8 x 293, in original oak frame and slip under glass. Provenance; Ex. an old Dunedin resident, a gift from his neighbour the French photographer (unknown) of this image. Note: Scott rejoined the ship in New Zealand, where additional supplies were taken aboard, including 34 dogs, 19 Siberian ponies and three motorised sledges. Terra Nova, heavily overladen, finally left Port Chalmers on 29 November 1910.
