A superior Japanese 'Mount Fuji' Kumiko cabinet, of rectangular form, with altar style top, above a wonderful series of shelves, drawers and sliding doors, all decorated with figures, birds and landscape scenes in pierced fretwork and carved panels, depicting mount Fuji in eruption with surrounding forests and a footbridge. The cabinet rests on a stand featuring exotic birds and bamboo foliage fretwork. 19th century. 180 x 127 x 42 cm
