A rare and stunning Peter Behrens Bauhaus 'Acorn' tea and coffee service, cane wound with fluted detailing to body and stamped maker's mark to base. Largest, height 20 cm, diameter 12 cm, Architect, designer, and artist Peter Behrens (1868-1940) was one of the 20th century's most influential German designers, and is known as the father of modern industrial design. He was also a founding member of the Munich Secession and co-founder of the Deutscher Werkbund (German Association of Craftsmen), which paved the way for the Bauhaus movement.
