A Japanese Yoshida workshop bronze jardiniere, Meiji period, circa 1880. The oval Kyoto bronze jardiniere with a rounded body, waisted neck and flat rim, and raised on four cast ruyi form feet, cast and incised in deep relief with cranes eating summer berries to one side, and struggling against winter weather over turbulent waves to the other side, with a key fret border to the rim, stamped Yoshida-made / Kyoto / great Japan within cartouche to the underside.
