A Pre-European pounamu Whao (chisel), Inanga variety stone with an unusual dark demarcation to the upper section indicating partial heat-treatment. Hammer end slanted. Circular cross-section tapering to a steep bevel and sharp cutting edge. Smooth polished surface throughout. 14 cm length.
