A pre-European Maori carved pounamu hei-tiki, with chin to the left shoulder, hands to thighs, the tapered hourglass drilled and concealed suspension hole to the back top of head showing only as a small lug from the front, mid/dark green tone with natural pale inclusions, length 8.8 cm. Provenance: from a private Nelson estate.
