A lacquered wood figure of Guanyin, probably late Ming Dynasty, seated in dhyanasana with hands held in vitarkamudra, wearing loosely draped robes and necklaces over the chest, the head with downcast gaze and benign expression, and the long hair partly falling over the shoulder and part drawn in a high chignon encircled with an elaborate tiara, traces of gilt and polychrome pigments, 83 cm high
