An exceptional palisander and red tortoiseshell cabinet on stand, Flemish, 17th century, of breakfront three section form with a pierced figural and vegetal gallery punctuated by pillars supporting brass finials, the drawers with framed tortoiseshell panels each embellished with shaped escutcheons, the central section with a niche enclosing the figure of Minerva and flanked by pairs of pilasters, the interior with an arrangement of ten drawers of similar decoration, the whole raised on ball and claw feet above a stand with six spiral twist columns to a stretcher base with squashed bun feet, 182 cm high, 122 cm wide, 51 cm deep
