Superb Chinese Qing Dynasty Qiangong wedding bed, Eastern Zhejinang/Eastern Zhejiang, of deep cube form, the front set with alcove, adorned by a magnificent carved and pierced panel, displaying auspicious symbols, figural court and warring scenes, with amazing multi tiered projecting cornice with inscription reading '(Marriage) made in Heaven,' the panels in a reddish lacquer finish and highlighted with blue lacquer, gold leaf and inlaid crushed mother of pearl, two butterflies feature on a pierced lattice work symbolizing enduring love, the sleeping area set with mattress and surrounded by pierced fret work windows, the whole constructed in mortise and tenon joints, 233 cm x 220 cm x 230 cm.
