A French silver gilt chalice, X-Ray tested .950 silver, 19th century, the French silver gilt chalice of 'Ultramontane' style (promoting the supremacy of the Pope), with a gently tapering cylindrical bowl with flared rim supported by a tulip form stem chased with foliage, engraved with a quotation in Latin to the underside, unmarked.
