Height 82 cm, width 49 cm, depth 24 cm, born in 1888,Barberis studiedat the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, focusingon classical Greek sculpture,underJean-Antoine Injalbert. In 1922 he travelled to red Island, under a grant created by the Madagascan government. In 1927, he participated in the international colonial exhibition., at the end of that decade,Barberis recieved a significant commission byAlbert Lapradetocreate the relief onPalais de la Porte Doree. In 1935, hewould go on to complete the WWImemorialMonument aux Morts in Antananarivo., Barberis became a member of the juryat theSalon des Artistes, and was awarded theGreat medal of Honor. He also became a member of thecommittee of the French Overseas Territories Salon,the SculptorAssociationand theMalagasy Academy.
