'Improved beyond recognition in Adelaide the Victorian three-year-old Donaster won the King's Cup at Morphettville by five lengths in a time which was a record for South Australia. Donaster gave a remarkable performance to win, as a mile from home he was in front of only three horses, Cape York, Amalia, and Burlesque. A little later he began a forward move, but he covered much extra ground through being forced to go around a bunch of horses spread wide out on the course In front of him.'
