A Japanese Arita export covered jar as lamp base, circa 1890, the large Japanese porcelain covered jar decorated with a songbird perched on a garden railing with clouds above, overhung with colourful flowering prunus blossom, all in a large shaped reserve framed with a chocolate brown line, painted in export ware palette with burnt orange, apricot and sky blue, seated in an oriental pierced wooden stand. Height 46 cm
