A fine and large Burmese silver table box or casket, unmarked, X-ray tested .950 silver, early 20th century, the impressive rectangular box with a domed hinged cover with canted corners, repousse and chased in high relief to all sides to depict Burmese legends connected to the life of Buddha, reserved with foliate scrolls against a textured and ground, the chamfered sides with mythical animal, all interspersed with stylised betel leaves.
