A Chinese carved ivory figure of a female warrior, Mu Guiying, circa 1920s, the female warrior depicted on horseback, clad in chainmail armour, brandishing her 'Bian' whip with both hands, a sheathed 'Dao' swung across her hip and a bow and arrows around her back, the elephant ivory finely carved, incised and inked, raised on an oval stand with curved feet.
