Aboriginal shield, Western Australian shield. Stone-carved early 1800s Pilbara Wunda shield (beefwood) with front incisions coated in alternating thick fluted bands of red and white ochre. Reverse carved with same elongated zigzag pattern. Has extensive damage to sides from tribal use. 84 x 17 x 4.5 cm
