A slab built vase by Alexander Campbell, c. 1980, New Zealand. Made from porcelain. A cubic form and large square top. Decorated with abstract designs with hand-painted oxides in the porcelain, layered slip and salt glaze. Incised signature to the base underside. This piece is inspired by the Spanish painter Antoni Tapies. Campbell's work is held in collections such as Christchurch Art gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetuand Auckland war Memorial Museum T?maki Paenga Hira, height 34.5 cm, width 13.6 cm, depth 13.5 cm
