Royal Doulton flambe potpourri for Art Union of London, baluster shape with reticulated insert and 'Art Union of London' backstamp. With original wooden stand. Height 24 cm. Note: the flambe glaze was first introduced at the St Louis exhibition in 1904. The presence of 'Art Union of London' on Doulton ware, indicates that it was produced in a series and specially selected for members of the Art Union, whose subscription brought them access to important Art wares from many sources including Doulton. Art Union wares were produced into the early 1900s.
