Butterfly pendant/brooch, circa 1890; modelled as a swallow tail butterfly, the head and body composed of graduated round pearls measuring from 1.60 mm to 3.60 mm, the wings accented throughout with rose-cut diamonds, round pink spinels and round blue sapphires, together weighing approximately 0.28 carats, 0.80 carats and 0.30 carats respectively, completed by a fixed pendant bail, mounted in 9ct pink gold with silver tops, length 43 mm, width 24 mm, total gross weight approximately 12 grams.
