Diamond and ruby brooch, circa 1893; designed as an elliptical plaque, centring a star-set old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.28 carats, flanked by a similarly set round native-cut rubies together weighing approximately 0.24 carats, upon a decorative applied surround of foliate motif, mounted in 15ct gold, length 50 mm, width 14 mm, total gross weight approximately 5 grams, British assay marks for Birmingham, 1893, maker's marks.
