A rare Nepalese bronze figure of Buddha Shakaymuni, 10th/11th century. The figure is seated on a double-lotus throne, with a trace of gilt. Provenance: Private collection, Melbourne. Mossgreen, Melbourne, 19/11/2013, lot 213. Compare to a kneeling figure with the same style of base, also dated to circa 10th century, see Ulrich Von Schroeder, Buddhist sculpture in Tibet, Vol.1, plate no. 152, 12.8 cm high
