A World War Two Military Cross & M.B.E. Group to Brigadier R.H. Fisher, The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) 2nd type Military; Military Cross (G.R.I.) engraved to rear; 1939 Star; Africa Star with clasp 8th Army; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals (1939 - 45), all unnamed as issued. With much accompanying research material. At the time of the MC award in December 1942, Fisher was a Captain with 'D' Battery 3 R.H.A. acting as the Artillery Forward Observer for the Royal Scots Greys (Armoured Corps) in a tank battle. His tank was hit twice, killing two crew members. Fisher managed to pull the driver from the knocked-out tank even though the nearest German tank was within 50 yards. He continued to call in artillery fire which helped to drive off the German tanks.
