Wonderful and large Japanese Meiji period Imari vase, of tapering ovoid form, the neck and shoulders richly decorated with alternating floral mons and cartouche panels of fretwork and scroll work, surrounded by chrysanthemum, above a continuous scene of storks and butterflies amongst floral branches, cloud scrolls and reeds, in rich tones of red, green, blue, yellow, orange and gilt, the whole raised on circular foot, height 62 cm
