Very good Chinese carved ivory figure group, depicting a young woman with headdress seated above an elephant in a forest scene with palms and foliage, the ground well covered with various flowers, ferns and bamboo leaves protruding from rocky outcrops, with carved geometric and archaised accents to blanket on elephant as well as beaded headdress set with tassle, the whole raised above a pierced wooden stand with fine brass string inlay work, height 28 cm and width 29 cm, Provenance: The Fred and Elinor Wrobel collection
