19th century cased set of plaster relief panels, of the Parthenon frieze, after John Henning the elder (1771-1851), 2nd quarter 19th century, containing forty one (41) panels of approximately 24 cm x 6 cm across seven timber trays, depicting the battle of the Amazons and Centaurs against the Lapithae, most panels marked Henning. F London and dated around c.1820 with marking indicating original architectural orientation, each contained within a drop front timber case with cover, a/f (three panels with break to centre, some very minor damage to corners), case measures 13.5 cm x 44 cm x 28 cm
