A trench art 25LB shell casing and a 9 carat gold Western Australian sweetheart brooch the shell case formed in an Arts & Crafts style, having a pinched waist and hammered rims, the top with 'Glasgow Roses' and a cartouche inscribed for the battle of 'Villers-Bretonneux'. 19 cm. The brooch by Western Australian jeweller Doig & horn of Fremantle in the early 20th century. The front engraved 'From black boy hill (army camp) Lest We Forget'. The obverse 'Dear mother from Will' (2)
