A scarce Louis Majorelle/Daum-Nancy iron mounted Art Deco vase from the famous furniture maker, this Daum Nancy/Louis Majorelle collaboration, c. 1925, of bulbous and humped form with indented shoulder and short neck. Openworked iron mount in a multi-zone construction, divided by 7 vertical profile struts and a broad shoulder ring, decorated with stylised floral decor and bronze highlights. The body blown in colourless glass with red-brown powder melting. In 1890 Majorelle founded a workshop for metal, which produced the fittings and decorations for his furniture in bronze, copper or wrought iron. From 1903 he worked with the glass manufacturer Daum Freres, for whom he designed the mountings, feet and shapes of his lamps, and finally also his vases.
