Japanese Daisho pair of swords in mounts, 20th century, Katana and matching Wakizashi blades with quality Koshirae mounts, the Katana with a Shobu-Zukuri configuration with carved Horimono of the Buddhist god of fire and anger, Fudou-Myou and sanskrit characters verso. The koshirae comprising a brown-lacquer saya with ensuite Ko-gatana and Wari-Kogai, the hilt covered with ray skin and wrapped in cream silk, fitted with iron and inlaid gold fuchi-gashira and menuki, and pierced tsuba (guard) with inlaid and applied gold decoration, the Wakizashi blade also of Shobu-zukuri configuration with koshirae of attractive lacquer saya with gold inlaid kozuka, pierced and inlaid tsuba, inlaid fuchi-gashira and menuki, the hilt wrapped in ray skin and cream silk, both Mumei (unsigned).
