A Victorian mauchline ware snuff box, rectangular, the hinged cover set to the centre with a framed gilt metal relief of game birds, height 6 cm, width 8.7 cm, depth 1.5 cm. In the nineteenth century this small coastal town was home to a thriving industry producing tartan printed sycamore souvenirs such as snuff boxes, egg cups and thread-winders.
