A Sevres porcelain bottle cooler (Seau a liqueur Ovale), blue interlaced L mark with date letter N for 1766, painter's mark for Guillaume Noel (fl. 1755-1800) painted with two shaped oval reserves with flowers and fruit on a 'Bleu Nouveau oeil de perdrix' ground, width across handles 31.5 cm. Literature: Brunet, M and Preaud, T, 'Sevres: Des origines a nos jours', 1978, p.192, no.204. Other Notes: a Sevres liqueur bottle cooler of the same shape is held in the collection of the metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
