A lacquered Jingasa Samurai hat with Takenaka clan crest, Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century of boat shaped shingen style with a sightly upturned front edge and low dome decorated in gilt hiramaki-e on black lacquered ground, with a front kamon crest of nine bamboo leaves within circle (Takenaka clan), the red lacquered interior with gold leaf patches and specks, loops to attach lining present, on a later display stand and vintage Japanese black lacquered square tray stand.
