A quality Victorian ship's apothecary chest, in solid mahogany with recessed brass fittings, the hinged lid enclosing 15 various bottles, the two drawers to the base with pin locking containing considerable medical paraphernalia including: scales, boxed syringe and other, needles, scarifator, scalpel, tongue depressor, jars, bottles, cased sand timer, medical booklets, one entitled the Seaman's medical friend, published 1868 and annotated in ink 'Hay Stephens.
