A Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vase by Kinkozan, baluster form, the body painted with opposing panels emblematic of spring and autumn, one side with male and female mandarin ducks beside a river, the other side with two hens beneath a flowering tree reserved against a blue ground, enriched with gilt and polychrome enamel flower heads and foliate borders.
