A rare Tibetan Chung Dzi bead, orange agate with black and white equatorial stripes, These beads are prized in the Himalayan regions and are worn as protective amulets. Some examples are ground into a powder to be used in traditional Tibetan medicine. Beads subject to this process have small 'dig marks' where a portion of the bead has been scraped or ground away to be included in the medicine. This example shows dig marks to each end, a good example but of uncertain age, 6 cm length
