An uncommon George III red Morocco leather bound despatch box, with impressed decoration and gold embossed double Royal Coat of Arms to the front, 'WO' for War Office to the hinged lid and with sturdy brass swing handle. The interior retains its original (now slightly distressed) red velvet lining. The double latch lock a little sticky, with key. 26.5 x 13.3 x 12 cm.
