George III silver hunter pocket watch, by Barwise, London, number 3341, 54 mm machine engraved case with engraved crest and motto 'Foy Est Tout' (Fidelity is All), hallmarked London 1803 by Thomas Gooch. Signed and numbered dial, movement with duplex escapement and dust cover. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, rail track minutes, subs seconds dial at VI. Gold hands. Faint hairlines at VI and VIII John Barwise was born in 1757 and resided in London until his death in 1842. During this time, he became one of London's most respected watchmakers and also served on the Board of Longitude.
