Mennecy porcelain milk jug and cover, c. 1750, painted with flowers and birds, the cover with a rose finial, minor chip to cover, incised to underside 'D V' for the Duc de Villeroy, height 12 cm width 7 cm. Provenance: Darblay collection. Private Collection, Qld, reference: this important collection of Mennecy porcelain was formed in the 19th century by the Darblay family, especially Ayme-Henri Darblay (1854-1899). He published the reference book, Villeroy, Son Passe, SA Fabrique de Porcelaine et Son Etat Actuel, in 1901
