French ivory, tortoiseshell, mother-of-pearl and gold snuff box, c. 1750, the circular ivory box with a tortoiseshell lined interior, the lid decorated with disk of mother-of-pearl inset into a gold framed glass inset depicting Frederick the great in military uniform astride a rearing horse, the portrait embellished with fine gold details and old mine cut diamonds, height 2.5 cm diameter 7.6 cm.
